Title 1 - Daily food- Series : Galatians:The Only Gospel - The Gospel of Christ
Volume 2: The Hearing Of Faith
Author Pedro Dong
The expression “the hearing of faith” (Gal 3:2) is not very common in Portuguese. However, in the original text, the word used is _akoé_, which has exactly the same meaning as “to hear”. In Romans chapter 10, this same word is also used: “So faith comes by preaching, and preaching by the word of Christ” (v. 17). The word “preaching” (as in Gal 3:2) refers to the sense of hearing. So faith comes by hearing the word of Christ. However, the hearing of faith is more than simply having the ability to listen; it means receiving and keeping the word in one's heart. It is very important that we hear the word properly. Many listen to beautiful preaching and sermons without retaining almost anything in their hearts. That's why we need to understand what kind of listening God wants.
